QuickBooks Product Refunds

Return your QuickBooks product

Most QuickBooks products have an unconditional 60-day money-back satisfaction guarantee. This policy does not apply to Intuit resource guides, education/lab packs, and bulk software orders. To receive a full refund of your purchase price, you must return the product to Intuit within 60 days of purchase. Once the product falls outside of the defined 60-day satisfaction guarantee period, Intuit cannot guarantee that the product refund will be honored.

How to return your product
I bought from Intuit

If you purchased from us and it’s within 60 days of the ship, download, or unlock date, you’re eligible for a refund under our satisfaction guarantee.

You can request a refund by contacting Customer Service. Have your license number handy for faster service.

Important: when you request the refund, your license will be deactivated and you will no longer be able to use the product.

If you don’t want to call us, you can return your physical products within 60 days of purchase. Intuit recommends returning products using a traceable method. If shipping via USPS, consider using registered or certified mail, or a return receipt. We are not responsible for lost mail or products damaged during shipment. Staples rewards used for the purchase will not be reimbursed.  Shipping fees for the initial order and product return will not be reimbursed.

Additional instructions for Point of Sale customers

If you purchased a hardware bundle, the following must be included for a full refund:

  • Intuit POS software
  • All hardware components, including cables, power supplies, accessories, CD’s, and manuals.
  • For retail returns, a dated receipt

I bought from a third-party retailer

If you purchased a physical product from a third-party retailer, please return it to that retailer.

I purchased an education pack, instructor guides, or bulk software

There is no 60-day money back guarantee for education/lab packs, or resource guides. You may return these only if they have not been opened. Mail unopened products to the returns department for a refund or exchange. They may be exchanged if the wrong item was ordered or purchased.

What is the policy for electronically delivered products?

You have 60 days from the purchase date to obtain a refund for product downloads, product unlocks, and all other electronically delivered Intuit media. Since there is no physical product shipped, you are not required to send anything back to the Returns Department. Refunds for electronically delivered QuickBooks can be requested by contacting the QuickBooks customer service department at (877) 683-3280 M-F 6am-6pm PT.

When will I receive my refund?

Credit Card orDebit Card Software: A refund will appear on your credit card statement 7-10 business days after being processed by Customer Service.

Hardware (QuickBooks Point of Sale Products only): Upon receipt of your return, a refund will be issued back to the credit card used on the original purchase within 7-10 business days. It will appear on your statement in 1-2 billing cycles.

Expect a mailed refund check within 4 weeks after receipt of your return.
Check Software: Software returns are no longer required. Expect a mailed refund check within 2 weeks after contacting Customer Service to request a refund.

Hardware (QuickBooks Point of Sale Products only): Expect a mailed refund check within 2 weeks after receipt of your return.

Expect a mailed refund check within 4 weeks after receipt of your return.
Cash Intuit does not accept cash payment. Expect a mailed refund check within 4 weeks after receipt of your return.
I want to request a refund on shipping

If you’d like to see when you should’ve expected the product, check the estimated delivery times on the article Where’s my QuickBooks order? If your UPS delivery arrived after the expected date, please contact Customer Service. We will investigate the tracking history and issue a refund if it was late.

If you have a priority or discount code for free shipping, please have the mailer ready and then contact Customer Service to request a refund.
